On Saturday, May 11th, residents of all areas of Tacoma including Ruston, Stadium District and Narrows can help give back to their community by participating in the nations largest one day food drive. “Stamp Out Hunger” was started 21 years ago by the National Association of Letter Carriers with the goal of helping to feed all of the hungry people they saw on their daily mail route. Participating in the drive is really quite simple. Check your mailbox for a blue plastic bag marked “Stamp Out Hunger”. From there, all you need to do is fill the bag with non-perishable food items, and leave it by your mailbox on May 11th where it will be picked up and distributed to local food banks. Food banks in Proctor District, North Tacoma and all surrounding areas are having a difficult time keeping their shelves stocked, so help out your neighbors by helping to fight hunger!
It’s time to “Stamp Out Hunger”
