Pierce County home sales were still on the rise for the month of June. Home sales rose 32.6 percent compared to June 2012 according to data released earlier this month by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. There were 1,118 sales compared to 843 sales from the same time period last year. June was also the second consecutive month in which there were monthly home sales of at least 1,000 units. Median home sale prices are also still on the rise, up nearly 10 percent for this same time period. Pending home sales were also up 15.9 percent compared to the data for June 2012. Housing inventory still remains low, but is also slowly rising. Almost 300 more homes hit the market in June versus last year. This data is reflecting a housing market that is slowly correcting itself from the recession that hit a few years back. If you are interested in either buying or selling a home, now may be a great time to start looking into it!
